In colder climates, winterization dominates the annual cycle — draining or protecting water systems, stabilizing fuel, protecting engines from freezing, and proper covering. The trade-off is that growth and UV are far less aggressive, so bottom and cosmetic intervals stretch.
In freshwater, corrosion is dramatically reduced and anodes last considerably longer, though growth still occurs and mechanical servicing is unchanged. Wherever you are, the principle is the same: identify which environmental pressures are strongest where your yacht sits, and weight the schedule toward those.
Scheduling mistakes owners make
A few patterns account for most schedule failures.
